Hey Salad Bowl, how did y’all dress yourself after getting your first “grown up” job? I just survived my first week and am realizing that my lack of dress clothes is going to be a problem. My last job was with 5 year olds and I wore jeans all the time so any dress clothing is several years old and a few sizes from being wearable now .
The new job is at in an office but I work with getting funding for our organization so I go out and talk to people who make decisions concerning this all the time, so jeans aren’t going to work and my one business dress isn’t going to work for 5 days a week. The other women in my office have all worn dresses every day since last Saturday (6/25) when I started. I know pants are allowed but it does seem like the culture is geared toward women wearing skirts/dresses (Of course it’s also the warm part of summer so that may have more to do with it).
Suggestions for how to start? Or where to look? Or even blogs that I could check out for outfit combos? I’m not rolling in cash and haven’t gotten my first paycheck yet.
