You ever see something wonder both why you didn’t think of it while wondering why the hell people are buying such a thing?
I had that experience while searching for book sleeves. I had stumbled upon it somehow and was like that’s a good idea why didn’t I think of it? Because I have a paperback with a missing front cover because it was being tossed about in my bag. On the other hand searching these things put me in sight of something called a book beau which is really fucking expensive for something you can make with a couple of fat quarters and a bit of fusible fleece all of which you can get cheap on sale or with a coupon. I have some fabric that I bought with no project in mind that may or may not be turned into such an item if I can pull myself away from the cross stitch which seems to be going by faster than the first project. (The reason I have such fabric is because I literally bought a pound of fabric which is basically random 1/2 to 1 yard cuts bagged up with no choice in color or pattern. Surprise!)
I am also contemplating making a tablet stand as I’m tired of my tablet just sliding down when I’m trying to cross stitch. I have the pattern on it and I color the squares in the chart as go. It can be made with stuff I have in the house already as I’m trying to reduce my stash. Sorta.
Why these topics? Because these are things I can actually do something about rather than wish for the ability to work from home and for a small house with a space I can turn into a craft/sewing room so I can close the door on projects. Having to make space to actually do the projects is sucking the will to do any out of me.
Otherwise, I got a fair amount done on the cross stitch I think plus the scarf is moving along. I’m rethinking making the project bag and maybe just making a new grime guard with lighter colored fabric. It’s not like the project bags I already have need replacing per se, they work fine as is and I don’t have a lot of cross stitch projects going at once like some people on YouTube.
Anyway, that’s about it this week. Maybe next week I might delve into my hatred of Pinterest which one would think I would like as a crafty person but no. So, what’s on your craft table? Any progress on those crafty things this week? (Or the reading up on how to make the photography book?)
ETA: Oops! I typed this up, copied and pasted it to Reddit and apparently forgot to hit publish. So it’s now late. Sorry.
