Melanoma’s pavilions were and remain especially useless since the White House already has tennis courts. If she intended to distract away from Coco and Rafa, she failed; as more comes out about the Maladministration’s longtime & deliberate interference w/testing & containment efforts, the world should know the extent to which they actively, deliberately failed.
Those aggressive cancellations are #NeroTrump’s fault. Fiddling around, doing nothing, because he’s a sociopath and so are all the enablers he still employs who pretend to be working for Americans in the EOB. All the school closings & scrambling we see on the news; all the professionals playing to empty stadiums for safety reasons.
He and those craven greedmongers who turned down tests the WHO offered in January to wait for a company who made them in which he had a significant financial interest (which is flat-out illegal as well as a dereliction of duty, and I can’t wait for Glenn Kirschner’s Trump Crime Commission to get started even though they’re likely going to be busy for the next 100 years).
Even as there are outbreaks worldwide, it’s interesting to look at whose intervention tactics appear to be worth further examination for modeling (Taiwan, South Korea) and whose not only do not, but are startlingly similar in their abdication of duty (Racist White People in Charge, in two of the most recently illuminated examples)
Looking at Carole Cadwallader’s reporting on BoJo’s complete inattention to the effect of a global pandemic on his country, it bothers me as much as it usually does when paying attention to something others might’ve skipped over (not that absolutely everything isn’t going on all the time) to remember how BoJo and TRE45ON were whispering behind their hands to one another the last time the Trump Crime family were over on the continent making grotesquely greedy fools of themselves … and how it was being whispered to us by Owen Watson and other journalist-type folks in the UK that they might, just might, be plotting the demise of the NHS
Sportsmen and women are being sensible, gracious, and disciplined
These were some of the things we looked forward to and also had to miss.
It is – as usual – our job to make enough noise to make sure the people who were actively, provably, deliberately responsible for making this so much worse than it had to be are all held accountable.
I’m sure you’re tired of calling Jeff Zucker’s office. We need to do it anyway — if for no other reason because right now we can’t all move to Mexico, not all at once.
