Live Action X-Men Series

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Fox is talks to adapt X-Men into a live action television series. While the 20th Century Fox stills owns the rights to the franchise that has produced X-Men movies to date, Marvel still owns the comic rights.

According to TV Insider:

Any deal for 20th Century Fox TV to wade into the Marvel waters will require deft negotiating because Marvel is busy ramping up its own TV presence, starting with ABC's current series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.and Agent Carter. Next up, Marvel is producing the four Netflix series Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fistand Luke Cage, plus the miniseries The Defenders.

I, for one, couldn't be happier with this news. There are tons of characters for FOX to pull from to make this series great. While Marvel might be based at Disney, I see no reason why they would not give their blessing. It's a win-win for Marvel period. Plus, the X-men universe(like all of them) have tons of Mutants of Color that can be fully fleshed out and star on the TV screen. Seriously Marvel, you could dominate 2 networks!

Thoughts on the news? Are there any characters from the X-Men comics you would like to see?

ETA: I just couldn't resist. My heart wasn't in the right place for a full blown fan casting type post but here are four favorites I would like to see heavily featured on the X-Men TV series. You can check out my other two casting posts by clicking on the links (Female Expendables and Teen Titans).

Freema Agyeman as Storm

Jacob Latimore as Evan Daniels aka Spyke.

Victoria Justice as Wind Dancer (With her powers)

Dani Moonstar because damn it Q'oriank Kilcher should be fucking famous by now.
